So that's how it goes...

What follows here is a summary of the plot of my film if it were the full length version:

Basically the story of two immortals. The first is centuries old and is called Caleb. Second is called Jamie and has only recently discovered his immortality.

Film starts with Jamie in school. He is a social stereotypical loser, only a step above the class outcast. He loves a girl called Sarah, who doesn’t even know he exists. One day after school he gets jumped be a bunch of yobs, and then accidently falls in the road where he is hit. Paramedics are called, they get there but soon declare that he is dead. That’s when his eyes open and everyone becomes freaked out when he gets up, apparently fine, and then runs of. Next school day everyone stays away, freaked out. Jamie leaves and is followed by the outcast. Jamie confronts him and it turns out that the outcast is actually Caleb in the form of a teenager. And so what follows is the section of the film where Caleb introduces Jamie to the world of the immortals, a world where anything is possible and where he can be anyone he wants to be. Tells him about the issues he has to face now (the powers, living forever etc) and introduces him to the closest vanguard outpost. Jamie embraces his new self and is about to ask Sarah out (despite Caleb’s warnings) when the two get attacked by the vanguard. One fight and chase scene later, Caleb calls his mate and gets told what’s going on; the vanguard have gone big and instituted a global attack on all the immortals they know about. And then something that chills Caleb to his core. An immortal named Lance is helping them. The two have a history together, but Caleb doesn’t tell Jamie what it is. He does say though that Jamie will have to come with him in order to protect his family and friends. Turns out that the vanguard have found a damnation blade and are figuring out how to use it whilst gathering as many immortals as they can. Also going to be revealed at this point that Caleb used to be part of the immortal resistance movement against the vanguard. The two move on and met up with an old friend of Caleb’s (the one he phoned) called Fox. Fox persuades Caleb that he is needed to stop this attack. The three go along to a known vanguard holding post with the intention of finding out more information about the attack and freeing any trapped immortals. Jamie just goes along, feeling slightly overwhelmed whilst thrilled at the adventure of the whole thing. They fight their way through the building, although it’s largely empty, with signs that its recently been evacuated. We learn more about Fox and Caleb’s background, namely more about Caleb’s memories of his immortal birth and relationship with Lance. They reach the control room where they get jumped by a group of soldiers led by Lance himself. They fight their way out, Fox getting kidnapped. As they are about to escape Lance makes a shocking statement: he says that they can run all they want but it won’t make any difference and that the vanguard have big plans for them. Jamie, with Caleb in tow, rushes back to his home town; his parents have been kidnapped as well as Sarah. The two have a big argument and then Caleb finally phones the immortal resistance and gets them to track the location of Fox. The tell him Fox is being held in an adapted oil rig the vanguard have taken control of and are using as a research centre for the damnation blade they have, and that it’s impossible to break in. Caleb insists they let him try. The agree and send him a helicopter. Jamie insists he goes along too, but before they leave Caleb reveals his most precious treasure: his own damnation blade that he found long ago but never figured out how to use. The reach the oil rig and fight their way through to where they are holding Jamie’s family. Lance acts like a prick and forces the two to choose between the family and the girl and the runs of. They are dropped into the sea below with chains. Caleb stops the family from falling but Sarah disappears beneath the water. Jamie dives down. While he is swimming we see Sarah apparently drown. He reaches her, does the kiss thing and gives her air, and they then swim back up. Caleb drops a ladder for them to climb up and then runs off to find Lance. He does and they have a fight after Lance kills Fox. Each is wielding a damnation blade. Caleb asks why lance is helping the vanguard and he replies that he is doing it because he is bored (yeah, he’s a prick). Jamie arrives as lance makes reference to his shared past with Caleb, and Caleb is then forced to explain what actually happened: centuries ago Lance was a conquering war lord while Caleb was a knight in the resistance against him. Lance killed Caleb and the army he was in, but then Caleb came back but was too late to save the one he loved from being murdered by Lance. He then vowed revenge on Lance, eventually joined the immortal resistance against the vanguard (with the goal of tracking down Lance) and then actually found lance and realised that he couldn’t kill him. He then dropped off the grid, leaping through time in a haze of mournful depression and drunken abandon. Caleb then asks how he got the damnation blade. He says the vanguard has more resources then they can imagine and in fact they wouldn’t mind losing an oil rig. He then triggers the self destruct sequence. Caleb finishes the fight with Lance and is about to kill him, the blade making him ever darker. That is until he sees a vision of his ex wife which makes him decide to leave Lance and go. As he does he realises that it was Jamie telling him to come and the two start to leave. As they do Lance throws his blade at Caleb. Caleb spins round and grabs it and then throws it back. It hits Lance and he stumbles back into a huge explosion. The film ends with the two flying away on the helicopter while in the background the oil rig explodes. Jamie says he found a disc with the locations of where the vanguard is holding the other immortals (because he is good with computers). He then hands Caleb his damnation blade (which Caleb dropped during the fight with Lance) and Caleb replies that he is actually capable of using it and is now afraid of what he might become. He then says thank you to Jamie and states that they have both entered a brand new world. At this point a voice over begins that echoes Caleb’s statement and hints at the idea that the blades hold far more secrets, that Sarah is an immortal, that Lance is alive and that big things are set to happen in the future. We then see the speaker, an old woman sat in darkness. The camera then pans and we see a high level vanguard official sitting to her side. He smiles and the screen goes black. Then credits then play.
