another world...

The purpose of this post is to further explore the world of my film. Clearly there has to be something to contrast the immortals. That is where the vanguard come in. Basically the vanguard are the classic secret organisation that have existed for centuries, hidden behind false governments and corrupt organisations. They know what the immortals are and believe that they are a crime against nature, something that is evil and un-right and must be destroyed. They work in secret around the world, tracking down immortals. Some they capture while those who are too powerful or too public they continue to monitor. Those they do capture are subjected to horrible tortures, with the goal of learning more about the immortals. Once finished the immortals are imprisoned forever, never to be released. Other then the neutralization of all immortals, the vanguard’s primary goal is to find a weapon capable of killing said immortals outright. And just to make the vanguard that bit more evil, many of its members believe that humanity as whole is dumb and that they need to be controlled (read, dominated), and that they abuse the people they apparently want to ‘protect’. (Yeah, there’s a lot of room for further development here.)

Obviously there is an immortal group dedicated to bringing down the vanguard, but I don’t think they will feature much in this film. The main point here with this film is the damnation blades. These weapons of myth are the centre of this film. Basically, they are six small blades that are the only weapons capable of killing an immortal. Why? No one knows, and their origins are lost to the winds of time, much like the blades themselves which are scattered around the world in hidden locations. However, there’s a catch. The damnation blades are called that for a reason. In order to use them, the wielder must have a corrupted soul, and have taken an innocent life beforehand. If not, then the blades act like simple ordinary blades. Also, the longer someone uses them the more ‘damned’ they become, eventually becoming absorbed by the seed of inner darkness. There are many unknown things about the damnation blades, not just their ability to kill immortals. (yeah, a lot more room for further development here for future stories and stuff).
