iron man poster analyst

as part of the side project that i have to do, i also have to look at posters and magazine covers (yes both). so obviously im going to look at the posters that accompony the teasers that i've alreay looked at. soooooo, to begin with i'm looking at the poster for iron man, which can be found here.

firstly, the poster incoperates picture of its stars, the most notable of which are robert downey jr and gwenth paltrow. there are also two other characters pictured, thus forming the four main characters of the story. this is useful to the audience as it entices them with the powerful cast members. the mise en scene suggests that the cats are all releated to iron man (as seen by their releative position) but are not as powerful as him. the pictures in the background represent the action in the movie visually. the dark background contrasts with the pictures of the cast and title, making it stand out and grab the audiences attention. the expression of downey and the black guy suggest a positive determination that shows them as good guys while the bald guy in the middle has a sinister look, suggesting evil. platrow's stance makes her look confident and attractive whilst not slutty, thus suggesting that she is the main love interest. the title itself is done in bold block capitals that imply the power and strenght of the title character. lastly, the color of the poster has connotataions of action and adventure, the red on blue supporting this while the light and dark aspect showing that this is a story of good and evil.
