next up on the poster analyst hit list is the one for the da vinci code, which can be found here.
ok this one is a doozy. there is no film star present in the poster. the mise en scene is quiet interesting however. there is a partial picture of the mona lisa that is obscured by what appaers to be the corner of a turing page, like someone is peeling away the layers of hidden code in the painting. this is a powerful visualization of the theme of conspiracy that runs throughout the movie. the darkness around the bottom of the poster also reinforces this. the title is small in releation to the rest of the poster, which suggests that people will know this film by the presence of the mona lisa. this is in turn a direct reference to the cultural populairty of the story on which the film is based. the style of font is sharp and straight, which suggest age and power, the age and power of those involved in the conspiracy at the center of the film. lastly, the lighting of the poster carries with it the connotation of the truth being revealed, of the light shinning through the darkness.

Stuart, it is difficult to visualise what you are analysing without an image - if you are not sure how to upload links, videos or images then please ask.
