as stated previously, a teaser trailer is short and doesn't reveal much about the plot of the movie, and in some cases doesn't even use footage of the movie (see 'the da vinci code' and 'the dark night' teasers). Now seeing as it (wrongly i believe) frowned upon to create something from scratch, we have to play by the 'rules' set down by other films in the same genre as me, commonly called the codes and conventions of a film genre. hence the analysis of other film teasers earlier in this project. from that I have managed to identify a set of attributes that are common to the genre, which are the things i will be following when constructing my own teaser, which are handily summarized below:
1. (because i can't figure out how to do bullet points) use a suitably epic piece of music that fits with what is happening on screen
2. use a montage of clips that don't really show anything narrative-ly important but still entice the audience.
3. use lighting to favorably highlight subject.
4. use a voice over as the main method of moving the narrative along.
5. put the title at the end.
6. have a tag line
7. open with the creating institute
8. use an institute that typically creates action and adventure films.
9. only sparingly use titles. NO cheesy transition effects.
so yeah those are the rules that I'm going to follow as i make my teaser.
