In difference to what we have done before, this time we have been given a choice over what we can do. after a long struggle with my mental instability, i finally picked to do the trailer brief over the newspaper one. so here's what i plan to do, perhaps not in the order i'll end up doing it in but what i'll do never the less. well, probably:
1. research. what would a world be without research? wonderfully spontainously random, but thats not the point. anyways, i plan on researching a number of things including, but not limited to: teaser trailers, market avalibility, genre codes and conventions, different kinds of effects, music and sound effects, etc
2. next, i'll probably do stuff along the lines of story development, such as a plot line, character profiles and analyst of major plot aspects. also in this section i'll identify what idealogies my thing adresses, as well as what codes and conventions it relies on/challenges, and some audience participation/feedback.
3. after all that comes the construct phase. this is where i'll post loads of, erm, posts showing what i'm doing to actually build my thing and the processes of actually building said thing. this will included scripts, location shoots, effects analyst etc
4. although this may be done seperatly, this is the part where i'll review what i've done, stating how well it turned out and compare it to my original vision, as well as seeing how my ideas changed and evolved over the project.
so there you go, a brief summary/intro/pitch of what i'm going to be doing for the next few months. hopefully i wont go insane this time, but hey, you never know . and now, as i prepare to depart, i leave you with this final thought: making a movie can be seen as a metaphor for life, you start of with an idea but as you change and grow you may end up with something totally unexpected and ultimatly better, or worse, then what you wanted in the first place. i like media, i like making films, and i'll be damned if i dont do my very best on this project, but like life i can only hold on for the ride and hope it turns out ok. hopefully, when the dust settles, i'll be in the former of my above statement.
(what a way to end a post, huh?)

I am speechless Stuart! The world is surely a better place for having people like you around. Unfortunately you need to cut the waffle and get down to the facts.
