Ever since man first started exploring the forests there have been tails of strange and mysterious happenings. These ranged from weird events to dark and twisted creatures. This is the story of one of those creatures, a forgotten beast that feeds on fear, and its dealings with a group of unwary adventurous teenagers as they seek to discover the shadowy truth about the forest.

The story begins with a couple being chased through a forest by something. As they run they see hints of something amongst the shadows of the trees. Soon the female dies and as the remaining guy looks round he sees no hint of a body, just blood on the floor. He runs again and comes across a clearing. He looks around in despair and as he turns something pounces on him. He drops the camera and the last things we see are a pair of feet cross the camera and splatter of blood splash across it.

The rest of the story sees a group of teenagers who, after hearing about some urban legend, decide to take a camping trip into the forest to see if they can find the source of the myth. naturally you have all your usual teen drama stuff until they start to get picked over by said creature. finally the story would come down to two survivors who begin to realise that the creature feeds on your fear, so that the more scared you are the stronger it gets and that the only truly safe place in the forest is at night as there are no shadows for the creature to move through (challenging the idea that night is scary). unfortunatly this comes to late as one of the characters, consumed by his own despair, puts a rifle to his head and kills himself (dont know where they get the rifle from at this point...). this is the ultimate act of fear and we see the shadow creature consume the body, healing its wound and taking control of it. the scene ends with the suicided guy, who is know being controlled by the shadow creature, advance on the other sole survivor. after this we hear a breif monologue statring how the teens dissapeared and a massive search was launched. turns out the search found one survivor. the audience is lead to belive that it is the other suvivor but as the camera turns it is revealed that its is the possesed guy. he is being lead to an ambulance. he gives a single look to the forest then turns back to the camera, giving a final sinister smile. the films ends on this picture in a black and white still, the only color being that of the glowing red eye of the guy. the film fades to black and then the credits roll as the camera flys over the forest, thus leaving the audience with a sense of terror and dread over the massive cliff hanger.
